Biography

My name is Rebekah Messer.

I have been married for 15 wonderful years to my high school sweetheart and we have 3 beautiful children, ages 9, 7, and 4. I moved to Clarksville in July of 2021 to be closer to family. Though born in Ohio, I grew up in the beautiful state of West Virginia.

I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and minor in Art in 2008 from Morehead State University. I went on to get my master’s degree in Reading and Writing in all grades preschool through 12th grade. After 6 years teaching in the traditional public school classroom I left to start Wild & Wonderful Forest School. Since leaving public education I have earned my certification in Physical Education and received 24 hours of training in the award winning program Project Learning Tree, a curriculum written by foresters committed to advancing environmental education, forest literacy, and green career pathways, using trees and forests as windows on the world. This past year I earned my Level 1 Forest School Naturalist Certificate to officially start my journey to opening a full time Forest School.

You will find me in my happy place when I can do the following: read until I fall asleep, watch my favorite show Impractical Jokers, see my silly husband make my entire family laugh, playing soccer, coaching, having 40 different people call you on your 40th birthday to wish you happy birthday, playing tricks on people with my identical twin sister, and sleeping in (though nearly impossible to accomplish with three children.)
